What Gmail Cleaner can clean
- Find senders Gmail identifies as newsletters and mailing lists, with how many emails each has sent you
- Mass unsubscribe through Gmail's own Unsubscribe, or block senders Gmail cannot unsubscribe from
- Bulk-move a sender's emails to Gmail Trash, all of them or only those older than a date
- Keep starred or important messages out of any cleanup
- Super Unsubscribe and Super Delete buttons in Gmail's own toolbar
- No Google sign-in, no OAuth and no Gmail API: it works in the Gmail tab you see
How to clean newsletters and unwanted email
- Open Gmail in Chrome and open Gmail Cleaner from the extension icon.
- Scan for mailing lists. Senders appear with their email counts as Gmail's pages are read.
- Select the senders you want to clean, or tick emails in Gmail and use Super Unsubscribe or Super Delete.
- Choose unsubscribe, delete, or both, review the confirmation, and start. The run is visible in your Gmail tab and can be stopped.
Gmail access and important limitations
- A Gmail tab has to stay open while a scan or cleanup runs; closing or reloading it ends the run.
- Unsubscribing uses Gmail's Report spam: Gmail unsubscribes where it can, otherwise the sender is blocked and its new mail goes to Spam. Either way one email per sender is reported to Gmail as spam.
- Blocked senders are managed in Gmail Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses.
- Deleted messages are moved to Gmail Trash and remain subject to Gmail's retention behavior.
- The mailing-list scan reflects Gmail's own classification and may not identify every promotional sender.
Gmail Cleaner privacy and billing FAQ
Can I try Gmail Cleaner for free?
Yes. Scanning is free, with 100 emails moved to Trash and 5 Super Unsubscribes per local day. Paid access removes those daily limits; every cleanup already runs at full speed.
Does Gmail Cleaner need my Google password or account access?
No. There is no Google sign-in, no OAuth and no Gmail API. Gmail Cleaner works inside the Gmail tab you already have open, using Gmail's own search, Delete and Report spam controls.
Does CleanMySocial receive my emails?
No. Sender names, addresses and counts stay in local extension storage. CleanMySocial receives only license checks and privacy-limited technical diagnostics.
How does unsubscribe work?
Gmail Cleaner presses Gmail's Report spam on one email from the sender. Where Gmail offers to unsubscribe, it chooses Unsubscribe and Gmail sends the request; otherwise it blocks the sender so new mail goes to Spam.
Is Gmail Cleaner made by Google?
No. Gmail Cleaner is an independent CleanMySocial product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
